Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how StackJive, Inc. ("StackJive," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you install or use Shopify PowerTools (the "App") through the Shopify App Store. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
Store & Account Data
When you install the App, Shopify grants us OAuth access to your store. We collect and store your Shopify shop domain, shop ID, and the access token required to call the Shopify Admin API on your behalf.
Product, Order & Catalog Data
To power features such as Profit Intelligence, SEO Copilot, and Bulk Operations, we read product listings, variants, metafields, collections, orders, and related store data through the Shopify API. This data is processed on your behalf and stored in our database to provide persistent reporting and AI-driven analysis.
Usage Data
We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser/client type, pages visited within the App, and timestamps. This information is used for security, debugging, and improving the service.

If you contact us by email or through a support form, we store your email address and the content of your message in order to respond to your inquiry.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate your Shopify store and provide the App's core functionality.
- To analyze your store data and generate AI-powered insights, recommendations, and content.
- To store audit results, profit calculations, and job history so you can access them across sessions.
- To send transactional or operational emails (e.g., billing reminders, alerts you have configured).
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- To improve the App through aggregate, anonymized usage analysis.
3. AI Processing
Some features send product titles, descriptions, or other store content to third-party AI providers (currently Anthropic) to generate suggestions or rewrites. We send only the minimum data required for each request. We do not use your store data to train third-party AI models. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as follows:
- Shopify — as required to operate as a Shopify app and comply with Shopify's Partner requirements.
- Infrastructure providers — our database (Neon), cache/queue (Upstash), and hosting (Vercel) receive data as necessary to operate the service. All providers are bound by data processing agreements.
- AI providers — Anthropic receives limited store content solely for generating App features as described above.
- Legal obligations — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of StackJive or others.
5. Data Retention
We retain your store data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to allow for reactivation or to resolve disputes. If you uninstall the App, you may request deletion of your data by emailing privacy@stackjive.com. We will delete your data within 30 days of a verified request, except where retention is required by law.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (TLS), encrypted storage of access tokens, and restricted access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@stackjive.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for use by businesses and is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
